Yoga for Kids

Yoga for Kids programs bring your children the gift of yoga and set them on a lifelong path to health and happiness

Yoga is a non competitive practice, that develops skills for healthy posture, a supple body and a sound mind.

We provide a fun-filled format to introduce and develop the practice of yoga.

Through fun and games, your children can build strong, flexible bodies and cultivate a healthy sense of self confidence.

The demands of school work and peer pressure can already affect stress levels in young children. Yoga can provide a feeling of more inner strength and calm.

Here are some of the benefits of yoga for children

  • Promotes healthy posture
  • Encourages body awareness
  • Creates non competative participation
  • Develops strength, stability & flexibility
  • Improves co-ordination & balance
  • Calms and focuses the mind
  • Reduces stress & anxiety
  • Aids concentration
  • Builds self esteem

Testimonials

Mirella Parry has been instructing Yoga/Pilates at Brigidine College over the last year and working with the year 10 students. Mirella has impressed me with her approach to teaching adolescent girls in which she is able to engage the students during the class and keep them interested. The students enjoyed the activities Mirella had planned and the feedback was always positive.

Mirella’s Holiday Yoga Program was enjoyable and interesting to both children and adults. It was fun to see what poses we could all do and Mirella encouraged everyone to join in and work on poses that were either more challenging for them or the poses which they enjoyed the most. It was good how she encouraged the boys to participate in something they would not usually do. Everyone really enjoyed themselves.
Thanks Mirella

Mirella Parry conducted yoga lessons to students in Year 10 as a part of our ‘Recreation for Health and Fitness’ unit at the beginning of this year.

She was ever the professional whilst conducting lessons, engaging the students for the specified time period. The lessons were 1.5 hours long, which is a lot longer than normal lessons.

However, Mirella had no trouble maintaining the interest and engagement of the students for the entire time. The lessons were catered to suit the needs of the students and she was flexible in her approach, adjusting activities to suit different classes, as some classes were more advanced than others.

Our students thoroughly enjoyed the classes run by Mirella, requesting more lessons, once they had been complete. In fact, she inspired several students to take up yoga outside of school, as they enjoyed the lessons so much.

I therefore endorse her teaching ability and recommend her for any yoga programs within a school setting.
